I have a strong background in financial due diligence and transaction advisory services, having spent over a decade at EY between London and the Middle East, particularly Kuwait. My work has involved close client interaction, analysis of complex financial data, and support on M&A transactions across various sectors.
Recently, I’ve shown interest in expanding my expertise into M&A advisory, financial planning and analysis, and exploring independent consulting or business opportunities in the UK. I also have a keen understanding of cross-border finance, with familiarity in both Middle Eastern and UK markets.
An Interview With Wassim
Authenticity – I appreciate people who are genuine and true to themselves.
Open-mindedness – those willing to embrace different cultures, ideas and perspectives.
Empathy – People who show understanding, kindness and emotional intelligence.
The one thing I’d likely want to change in the world is the existence of division — whether through hatred, borders, or social categories. Deep down, I believe in a world where love, human dignity, and shared humanity override nationality, religion, or status. I’d want people to connect with each other as equals — not through labels, but through compassion. A world with no “us and them”, just “we”.
Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) – as a bold, transformative figure in the Middle East whose vision, power, and reforms I want to understand, challenge, or influence.
Elon Musk – for his disruptive thinking, bold ambition, and how he pushes the limits of what's possible.
Oprah Winfrey – for her emotional intelligence, storytelling power, and her ability to connect deeply across cultures and backgrounds.
On an ideal weekend, I’d likely be spending time with my family and friends. I also like to cycle through London’s quieter streets or along the river or the Regent’s Canal, soaking in the city and exploring new areas. I like to try out new restaurants, probably with Middle Eastern, European or Asian flair, followed by catching up with my close friends.
I would definitely carve out time to relax at home, cooking a meal, watching something thoughtful or planning my next move, and if the energy’s right, I’d sit down for a game of chess — something that challenges my mind and gives me space to think strategically. I also like to do some fitness activities or catch up on my workout routines.
Finding professional fulfilment by helping my clients achieve their goals and create real impact, turning my expertise into meaningful results that give me a strong sense of achievement.
Building stronger connections and networks — especially with professionals, clients, and communities that align with my background, values, and ambitions (particularly within the Arabic and financial circles in London).
Improving personal health and structure — whether through regular workouts, nutrition, or mental clarity — as part of a broader effort to regain energy, focus, and long-term balance.
Mediterranean countries — places like Greece, Italy, or Spain where I can enjoy beautiful coastlines, relaxed vibes, and great food.
Kuwait — returning to familiar roots, family, and culture with a sense of belonging and connection.
USA — probably cities like New York or California for dynamic experiences, innovation, and diverse culture.
I’d probably be doing something that still taps into my strengths—like financial consulting, strategic business development, or maybe running my own advisory or coaching service for Middle Eastern clients in London. I’d likely be drawn to roles that combine analytical thinking with relationship-building, helping people or companies solve complex problems while bridging cultural gaps. Something entrepreneurial or client-facing, where my deep regional knowledge and financial expertise shine.
Travel extensively across the Middle East and the Mediterranean — exploring hidden gems beyond the usual spots, reconnecting with culture and heritage.
Build or grow a successful initiative that bridges UK and Middle Eastern markets — creating something impactful that reflects my expertise and values.
Master a physical challenge — maybe completing a long-distance cycling event or a triathlon, combining my love for fitness and endurance.
Achieve financial independence or security through smart investments and entrepreneurship.
Maybe learn or master something new related to languages, technology, psychology or innovation, given my interest in these areas.
I think the superpower I would like to have would be the ability to get answers to any questions to fulfil my deep curiosity and drive for knowledge. This comes from my passion to fully understand the world, make informed decisions and solve problems effectively. With that power, I’d eliminate uncertainty, speed up learning, and unlock endless possibilities, for myself and those around me.
